Angelique will not defend her Bad Homburg title after she fell to France’s Alize Cornet in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Angie lost 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 to Cornet, but still leads her on head-to-heads, 4-3.
Angie showed some great form in the first and second rounds of the tournament, beating her opponents in straights sets and dropping just 9 games. It’s now time to go to London where the third Grand Slam tournament of the year begins on Monday. Angie has already played Wimbledon 14 times and won it in 2018, beating Serena Williams in the final.
